报告题目:Role of Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene in Energy Storage

报告简介:

The ever-increasing demands for energy storage devices with high energy densities to power the portable electronics with increased power consumption and to advance vehicle electrification and grid energy storage have propelled lithium battery technology to a position of tremendous importance. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene, known with many appealing properties, are investigated intensely for improving the performance of Li–ion and Li–S batteries. However, the understanding of their actual role in Li–ion and Li–S batteries is lacking. It is well recognized that CNTs and graphene are not appropriate active lithium storage materials but are more like regulators: they do not electrochemically react with lithium ions and electrons but serve to regulate the lithium storage behavior of specific electroactive materials and increase the range of applications of lithium batteries. Therefore, the regulating role of CNTs and graphene in Li batteries is found from fundamental electrochemical reactions to electrode structure and integral cell design. Finally, significant efforts are needed to make CNTs and graphene further contribute to the advancement of Li batteries.

报告人简介:

成会明,工学博士、教授,中国科学院院士、发展中国家科学院院士,清华-伯克利深圳学院低维材料与器件实验室主任、中科院金属所沈阳材料科学国家研究中心先进炭材料研究部主任。主要从事碳纳米管、石墨烯、其他二维材料、能量转换和储存材料等研究。获发明专利100多项,多项被转移转化。在国内外学术会议上做特邀报告170多次,发表论文650余篇(其中2009-2018年间ESI高被引论文83篇),被引用72000多次,H因子为118,是化学和材料两个领域高被引科学家。曾获国家自然科学二等奖(两项)、国防科技进步二等奖、何梁何利科学与技术进步奖、美国Charles E. Pettinos奖、德国Felcht奖、美国ACS Nano讲座奖等。曾任《Carbon》副主编、《新型炭材料》主编,现任《Energy Storage Materials》创刊主编、《Science China Materials》副主编。
